Car show a Father's Day tradition at Oakbrook Center

You might not be able to afford to buy Dad his dream car this Father's Day, but you can treat him to a day with some sweet rides at Oakbrook Center's 47th annual Father's Day Classic Car Show.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, more than 100 antique, classic, vintage and specialty automobiles will be on display throughout the newly redesigned spaces at the center, Route 83 and 22nd St., Oak Brook. Admission is free.

Presented by the Greater Illinois Region of the Classic Car Club of America in partnership with Oakbrook Center, the Father's Day Classic Car Show is one of the largest open-air shows of its kind in the Midwest. The show features rare and one-of-a-kind vehicles dating back to the early 1900s and draws more than 75,000 visitors from all over the world.

"Each year the Father's Day Classic Car Show gets bigger and better," said Suzanne Cook-Beres, senior marketing manager for Oakbrook Center. "This year, we expect a great turnout of car enthusiasts, friends and family at Oakbrook Center to appreciate and celebrate these iconic automobiles."

The annual Father's Day Classic Car Show features an eclectic auto exhibition of several years, makes and models. Highlights include a 1903 Ford Rear Entrance Coupe, 1926 Lincoln Model Locke Roadster, 1927 American LaFrance Triple Combination Fire Engine, 1934 Packard 1108 Victoria, 1967 Shelby GT-350, and 1994 Lamborghini Diablo.

Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vehicles in the Wheels of Choice contest and be entered to win a Father's Day prize package valued at more than $1,000 from retailers at Oakbrook Center. The vehicle that receives the most votes will be presented with a commemorative plaque.
