St. Anne Parish School hosts Scholastic Bowl Tournament
St. Anne Parish School hosted the Northwest Suburban Catholic Scholastic Bowl Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22. Over 100 students on 12 teams from Catholic schools competed.
Schools represented were Our Lady of the Wayside of Arlington Heights, St. Theresa of Palatine, Holy Cross of Deerfield, St. Raymond of Mount Prospect, Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Glenview, St. Norbert of Northbrook and St. Anne of Barrington.
The schools competed in a series of six academic contests with St. Anne being the eventual winner in a thrilling 195-190 match vs. St. Raymond.
St. Norbert-2 beat St. Norbert-1 for third place while Our Lady of the Wayside and St. Raymond-2 were the other pool winners.
Scholastic competition requires that players possess a wide range of knowledge in categories that range from art and music through science, history and math. Many students practice during their lunch and recess hour and compete after school and on weekends.
Saint Anne Parish School, as a parish elementary school (Pre-K though 8), is an integral part of the Saint Anne Catholic Community in Barrington, providing rich Catholic values with academic excellence. For information, call (847) 381-0311 or visit www.stanneschoolbarrington.org.
