Holiday food boxes sought

Open Arms Mission Food Pantry in Antioch is seeking donations for holiday food boxes. The pantry anticipates needing more than 450 holiday food boxes for Thanksgiving and again for Christmas. The meal boxes will provide enough food to feed a family of eight. A donation of $25 provides a traditional holiday dinner, including a 12- to 14-pound turkey, potatoes, vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing and dessert. The pantry will provide additional foods, including fresh eggs, butter and milk. Donations may be made online at the www.openarmsmission.org or by sending a donation to Open Arms Mission, PO Box 79, Antioch, IL 60002. The food pantry is at 1548 S. Main St. and provides food weekly to many Antioch, Lake Villa and Lindenhurst senior citizens and families in need. For information call the Mission at (847) 395-0309.
