Letter: We're not ready for electric vehicles

President Biden wants the public to buy electric cars, but are the electric grids in most states able to handle the charging facilities? California's governor just asked people not to charge their electric cars due to brown outs. Texas has recently had brown outs as well.

Why would you buy an electric car if you cannot charge it? In most states, the electric grid is powered by either coal or fossil fuels. Then there is the battery problem. Lithium batteries have a life of eight to 10 years. At that point, how do we dispose of all those batteries?

Face it, electric cars may be the future, but we currently do not have the power grid to keep them charged or the clean disposal methods for the used batteries.
