Friends of the Zoo plan Zoo-a-Palooza Oct. 11

The Friends of Lords Park Zoo present a "Zoo-a-Palooza" fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Elgin Artspace Lofts, 40 DuPage St., off Spring Street in Elgin.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres by American Cuisine will be served and included in the price of admission. The event also features live music provided by harpist Karen Banaszewski; a 50/50 raffle; and a variety of silent auction items including restaurant, entertainment and museum baskets, jewelry, Elgin-centric artwork, and much more.

Tickets, $30 per person, can be purchased by sending a check to: Friends of Lords Park Zoo, P.O. Box 1187, Elgin, IL 60121-1187, indicating name, address and the number of people who will be attending. Names will be held at the door.

For those wishing to use a credit card, email Friends of Lords Park Zoo at Betsya4518@aol.com indicating the number of admissions desired; credit card payment will be accepted at the door. Because space is limited, patrons are encouraged to make reservations in advance.

In addition to food, drink, music, and the opportunity to take home a silent auction prize, board members of Friends of Lords Park Zoo will present an update on zoo activities including the acquisition of two additional bison and plans for the farm animal zoo exhibit in the summer of 2016.
