Palatine Legion offers early start on holiday shopping

Palatine American Legion Auxiliary Post 690 is hosting its Stop, Sip & Shop event from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the American Legion Hall, 122 W. Palatine Road in Palatine.

The event is a fundraiser for Legion Family Charities.

"Join us for an afternoon of one-stop holiday shopping," said event co-chairwoman Lisa Wente. "You'll be able to select your holiday gifts from 14 vendors, enjoy a drink from our cash bar, food, and participate in our raffle."

Some of the participating vendors include Scentsy Candles, Tastefully Simple, Tupperware, Park Lane and Yard Barn, as well as a number of handcrafted jewelry makers. They'll donate 10 percent of their proceeds to Legion Family Charities and a small item for the raffle.
