String players to take the stage at Judson for concert

The Judson University music department invites the community to its eighth scholarship benefit concert for young artists on Saturday, April 11. It will be held at 7 p.m. at the Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg.

The "Romance for Strings" concert is a fundraising effort for Judson's performance certificate in music program, which is headed by associate music professor Sojung Hong. Each year, she hosts a benefit concert to raise funds that support the education of outstanding piano students from South Korea who come to Judson to participate in the performance certificate program.

This year's event will feature Korean string players SungChan Chang on cello and SangKyun Kim on the violin. They will perform the music of Chopin and Schumann, with Hong accompanying on piano.

Tickets for the concert are $20 for general seating, and $50 for center-row seating.
