Doughnut and ice cream shop coming to Elk Grove

A combination Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins is proposing to open next spring inside a shuttered Pizza Hut in Elk Grove Village. The project got preliminary zoning approvals last week from the village board, which is rezoning the property at 50 Biesterfield Road from a general business classification to business district automotive, to allow for a drive-through lane alongside the building. Property owners, 2nd Gen-Biesterfield Inc., said they expect to open between March and May of 2015. The board is expected to formally adopt the rezoning Oct. 28.
