2 killed in fiery early morning crash outside Chicago
CHICAGO (AP) - Two people were killed and three others were injured in a fiery crash on an expressway south of Chicago.
The Illinois State Police say the crash happened at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday on the Bishop Ford Freeway in Dolton. They say a semitrailer, car and SUV were traveling south on Interstate 94 when they became involved in a collision. The collision caused the semitrailer to slam into a concrete bridge support and burst into flames. The driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
They haven't been identified and their ages and genders were not immediately known.
The 19-year-old man driving the car, the 24-year-old man driving the SUV and a 24-year-old man riding with him were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
