Toys for Tots event:

Mundelein's Tavern on 60, 330 Townline Road, has organized a special wrap-up event on Saturday, Dec. 13, for the 2014 Toys for Tots program. The restaurant is offering several food and drink specials for customers who donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need. Those who donate a toy also will receive a $5 restaurant gift card. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be offered to participating guests. Santa Claus arrives at approximately 6 p.m. Later in the evening, a live band will entertain guests. Representatives from the U.S. Marines will be on hand, along with Mundelein Mayor Steve Lentz, and Mundelein police, fire and CERT personnel.
