Buffalo Grove H.S. Winter Band Concert Dec. 18

Buffalo Grove High School's Concert and Symphonic bands will present their annual Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18.

Director of Bands Edward Jacobi will welcome eighth-grade students from local schools who will join the high school musicians onstage for the concert's finale, "Instant Concert" by Harold Walters.

Other highlights will include two movements from Antonin Dvorak's "New World Symphony," Rossini's "Tancredi Overture," John Zdechlik's "Chorale and Shaker Dance," Frank Ticheli's "Cajun Folk Songs," and Johann Strauss' "Radetzky March."

Before the concert, eighth-grade families will join high school families in a dinner provided by the Buffalo Grove Instrumental Association. Dinner is by invitation only, but the community is invited to attend the concert that follows.

The free concert will take place at the Miller Theater at Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove.
