UW-Madison will ask students to fill out sex assault survey

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - University of Wisconsin-Madison officials plan to ask students to fill out a sexual assault survey this spring.

The school says it has agreed to administer the Association of American Universities' survey on the sexual assault climate on campus. The White House Task Force to Protect Students From Sexual Assault has recommended colleges administer the survey as a way of identifying the extent of the problem. A spokesman for AAU declined to comment on the types of questions, saying releasing that information could compromise the results.

UW-Madison officials plan to send the survey by email to all students over 18 during the last three weeks of April. Results are expected to be made public this fall.
