Police investigating robbery at Indianapolis nursing home

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man who used a rifle to rob an assisted living facility on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

The armed robbery was reported early Sunday morning by employees at the Golden Living Center. The workers told police that the man pointed the gun at a female employee and ordered her to open two medication carts at the nurse's station.

The employees said the man grabbed various prescription drugs, and then attempted to take their cellphones, but he fled before doing so.

Facility director Todd Mann tells WXIN-TV (http://bit.ly/1CuNzCu ) that he doesn't know how the man got into the building. He says every door is locked with a key code that's periodically changed.

An investigation is ongoing.
