Audition for "Backwards Broadway" Jan. 19
Side Street Studio Arts will hold auditions for "Backwards Broadway" at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in Elgin. The show will be one night only, Friday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. Bring 16 bars of music prepared as well as either a CD or a jump drive for accompaniment. There will not be a piano on site for auditions. They are searching for a cast of 7-9 people, both men and women. Commitment will be minimal. This show will be in conjunction with the production of "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer," which will be Saturday, Feb. 14. Both evenings' proceeds will go to benefit local organizations. "Backwards Broadway" is a night where men and women sing Broadway tunes. The fun part is that the men sing songs traditionally meant for women, and women sing songs traditionally meant for men.
