East St. Louis police search for suspects in fatal shooting
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - Authorities are searching for the suspects who fatally shot a 19-year-old man as he was driving and injured a 16-year-old male passenger in East St. Louis.
Detective Ronald McClellan says Fredrick Purnell of East St. Louis was shot in the head Friday night. He died the following day at a hospital.
McClellan tells the Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1MOd6c4 ) the 16-year-old was shot in the back and remains in the hospital. He says police haven't had the chance to speak with the younger victim.
East St. Louis police are urging anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting to call the department.
