Lake Forest Office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Works Together for Bernie's Book Bank
Lake Forest, IL - Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group's Lake Forest office organized volunteer efforts to benefit Bernie's Book Bank, an organization that collects, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children's books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
In addition to supporting Habitat for Humanity and the Sunshine Kids, for one week in June every year, agents and staff of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group reach out into their communities to give their time to organizations and agencies that make a difference.
More than 40 agents and employees of the Lake Forest office gave their time to the Bernie's Book Bank warehouse over the course of two days, organizing, tagging and sorting books among other activities.
"The experience at Bernie's Book Bank was extremely gratifying and astonishing for our whole team," said Mark Pasquesi, Vice President and Managing Broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Realty Group's Lake Forest office. Pasquesi continued, "We learned that day that 61% of low income families do not have any books in their homes for their children, which is a very sad statistic. We had the pleasure of watching a very emotional video of the delivery day in which the children get the books. It's truly amazing and our office wants to work with Bernie's Book Bank throughout the year."
