Temperature down to minus 19 at Grayling, minus 16 elsewhere
GRAYLING, Mich. (AP) - An Arctic weather system has dropped some Michigan's temperatures into double digits below zero, with a bit of a warmup expected by week's end.
The National Weather Service says overnight lows early Wednesday reached minus 19 at Grayling in the northern Lower Peninsula. It says the low reached minus 16 at Marshall, Oscoda and Port Huron and minus 15 at Bad Axe, Big Rapids and Charlotte.
State police say that 19-year-old Joshua Wright of Hart died from injuries received in a head-on crash on an icy road Jan. 7 in Oceana County's Shelby Township.
The Flint Journal has identified two LakeVille Community Schools students who died Thursday in a weather-related crash in Genesee County's Forest Township. They were 18-year-old Lance McNeil of Otisville and 17-year-old Vonda Rierson of Mount Morris.
