Des Moines officer resigns following peeping accusations

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police officials say an officer has resigned following accusations he was peeping into a women's locker room at the department's gym.

A police spokesman said Tarry Pote resigned Thursday afternoon. Pote has been an officer with the department since 2002. He declined to comment to The Des Moines Register.

Interim Police chief Doug Harvey tells newspaper that department officials are disappointed, upset and disturbed by Pote's alleged actions.

Detectives started an investigation after a dispatcher said last week she saw someone looking through a locker-room window while a female officer was changing inside.

Officials say the gym windows have since been altered so no one can see through them anymore.
