Toy and clothing drive

Local residents are invited to join state Rep. Sam Yingling at the Grayslake Oasis Youth Center, 151 Hawley St., Grayslake, for a toy and clothing drive event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 14. Similar to his coffee shop stops, Yingling will meet with constituents over cider regarding local issues. Residents are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift cards or piece of winter clothing, to be donated to local families later in the year. The Oasis opened in 2008 and runs on 100 percent donations serving 15,000 to 20,000 people per year. It is a nonprofit group and all monetary donations are tax deductible.
