Boil order issued for Bedford Court in Lincolnshire

The village of Lincolnshire has issued a "boil water order" for the next 24 hours to its customers on Bedford Court, village officials said in a news release today.

Customers in other areas of the village are not affected and do not need to boil their water.

This advisory is issued due to loss of pressure in the water distribution system caused from construction related to the 2015 water main replacement project, the release stated. The village is flushing water mains and sampling in order to verify the system has not been contaminated.

The boil water advisory is estimated to end by Tuesday, June 2. However, residents should continue to boil their water until notified otherwise.

The boil water advisory is a precaution. To limit risk, customers should follow the instructions contained in the Boil Water Advisory Fact Sheet.

People with severely compromised immune systems, infants, and some elderly may be at increased risk. These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.

This boil water order is in effect until the village of Lincolnshire and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency determine the situation is corrected. Customers will be notified immediately when the advisory is lifted.

Residents are urged to check the village cable channel (10) or visit the village website at www.lincolnshireil.gov for updates.
