Aurora Downtown to hold mayoral candidate forum March 14

Mayoral candidates Richard Irvin and Rick Guzman will take to the Paramount stage on Tuesday, March 14 in the first candidate forum since the primary elections.

Aurora Downtown, an organization of downtown business and property owners, invites the public to an evening with the mayoral candidates from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd.

"The forum will be an opportunity for residents to hear from the candidates about issues and their visions relevant to downtown through questions posed by business and property owners as well as Aurora Downtown board members," said Terry Michels, vice chair of Aurora Downtown, who will moderate the event.

Michels said that index cards will be given to audience members for additional questions.

Aurora Downtown is hosting the free event.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and audience members are welcome to stay for a half an hour after the forum to talk with candidates in the lobby.

Both Irvin and Guzman took the top two positions in the Feb. 28 primary election. They will both be on the ballot for the general consolidated election on Tuesday, April 4.

Street parking is available nearby and a parking deck is located at Downer Place and Stolp Avenue. For more information, visit www.auroradowntown.org.
