Arlington Heights looking for students willing to shovel

Arlington Heights is looking for middle and high school students interested in participating in the village's Snow Shoveling Referral Program.

The program provides Arlington Heights residents who are over age 60 or who have a disability with the names and contact information of teens willing to shovel snow. Residents will contact the teens directly when assistance is needed. The teen is responsible for snow shoveling or notifying the resident if they are unable to complete the work.

Any compensation is up to the teen and resident, though the suggested rate is $10 to $15 an hour. The village does not do background checks on any of the participants and encourages both parties to conduct their own interview and/or reference check if desired.
