214@100: Forest View grad to RMHS principal

Eileen Hart has spent her career working with students in all kinds of roles: social studies teacher; basketball and volleyball coach; division head and, most recently, principal of Rolling Meadows High School.

"Being an instructor, coach and school leader in District 214 was always a career interest because I had so many great instructors and role models throughout," said Hart, a Forest View High School graduate who has been principal at Meadows since 2011.

While at Rolling Meadows, student participation in Advanced Placement programs has increased by 125 percent and the school established Advancement Via Individual Determination, a national program that provides support and resources to first-generation college students.

Hart also has infused science, technology, engineering and mathematics curriculum into many of the courses, helping build a strong foundation for students transitioning between high school and college.
