Class of 1994Civic involvement: In partnership with our community relation specialist at Whole Foods Market Northbrook,I have been involved in helping to support our local Library with children programs. Donate food to the Northbrook food pantry.I also Worked with local High schools to encourage kids to eat healthy with Healthy eating classes and Jr Iron chef ClassesElected offices held: NoneQuestions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?I have a strong Financial sense. Responsible for generating over $500k in sales a month at work. I have cut down on wasteful spending to maximize profit. HR and Hippa experience. Strong leadership skills,great communicator,mentor and a Proud Father.We need a group that will communicate ,listen , be proactive with issues and follow through and have a vision for this community for now and future generations. We need to have more community programs and involvement from our residents. Have a blue print in place to help increase safety, public works and help fill vacant store fronts which will generate revenue and make the Village more profitable.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Too high for the service's we receive.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?I think that the Fire And Police Dept do a great job as far as response time. A new Police dept should be built. Hours of the Police station should be a lot longer to better serve our community.The neighbor hoods need more patrolling then just Main street.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?From what I know, more then half of this years budget has gone to the Police dept.I think while still being able to keep officers safe and have the latest in advance weaponry , we need to direct more money to our Public works ,new roads,help create incentives for new local businesses to open in down town Main street.Beautify the community and create my owner ship and citizenship. A new school for the growing masses. Too many children and not enough schools. If we don't build a school,residents will move to a Village that best suits them and their families..We can not afford to lose more tax revenue this way and create more foreclosures.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?We need a community center. Job training,home ownership,children programs,literacy programs,parenting classes.After school programs,open pantry to help residents in need.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Accountability.Being transparent.No more "business as usual ". Not electing a new slate with the same agenda. We need to create goals and put into motion in a timely fashion. Not have a special interest in Village operations.A shared vision as a group and follow through.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Too many to count but no one only.What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?You live to learn and learn to live.My Dad's favorite saying.
