First of two Dickens of a Holiday weekends in downtown Libertyville

MainStreet Libertyville continued its holiday tradition Saturday with the Dickens of a Holiday event.

Children visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus and had photos taken in their sleigh set up in Cook Park. A Children's Holiday Shoppe was created in Petranek's Pharmacy on Milwaukee Avenue, where children were able to make holiday purchases with the help from Santa's "elves."

Other events included a movie at Liberty Theater, a Victorian Tea at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church and tours of the Ansel B. Cook House museum.

Dickens of a Holiday will also be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 13. Tours of the Cook House are also set for Sunday, Dec. 7, and Dec. 14.
