Lake County Housing Authority and AIM North Development Corporation Inc. hosted their second annual black-tie gala June 26. This year's theme was "Transforming Lives." The event raised scholarship funds for participants in LCHA's Family Self Sufficiency program.
"We are grateful to all who attended, sponsored and donated to this event," said David A. Northern Sr., LCHA's executive director/chief executive officer. "Thanks to their generosity, we will be able to provide educational opportunities to our residents that will help them become self-sufficient."
The evening included dinner, dancing, a silent auction and raffle. This year's keynote speaker was Lake County State's Attorney Mike Nerheim.
In addition to the keynote speaker, awards were presented to five individuals who have made a difference in the housing community. Rob Anthony, executive director of Community Partners for Affordable Housing, was presented with the Distinguished Leader award; Frank Davis, owner of Lindenhurst Early Childhood Center, was presented with the Friend of the Agency award; Anthony Charleston, owner of Charleston Builders, was presented with the Vendor of Excellence award; the Rev. Joshua Randolph of Salvation Praise Ministries was presented with the Unsung Hero award; and Jackie Petritis was presented with LCHA's Employee of the Year award.
The gala was held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Mundelein, who partnered with LCHA and AIM North to host the event.
