Independence Grove work set for September

Starting the week of Sept. 14, the roads and parking lots within Independence Grove Forest Preserve, Route 137 east of Route 21 near Libertyville, will be resurfaced. During construction, the preserve will remain open with at least one lane of traffic along the main roadway and the majority of parking spaces in the main parking areas available at all times. Major paving work will take place weekdays to minimize disruption. Completion is expected by Oct. 30, weather permitting. Visit www.lcfpd.org.
