Funeral services set for late US Rep Gus Savage

CHICAGO (AP) - Funeral services for former U.S. Rep. Gus Savage of Chicago will be held next weekend.

The wake will be 10 a.m. followed by services on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Chicago.

Savage died over the weekend, a day after celebrating his 90th birthday.

He served six terms in the U.S. House after first being elected in 1980.

He is survived by his son, a daughter and three grandchildren.
