A special feature of the World War II exhibit this summer is the Medal of Honor for Walter E. Truemper. He was just 25 years old when he heroically sacrificed his life for others during a 1944 flight over Germany in World War II. He remains the only Auroran to ever earn the highest military honor in the U.S.
Coming this summer, a new exhibit is being created about all Aurora men and women, at home and fighting abroad, of that era. The exhibit will be installed at the Stover Visitor Center in Phillips Park.
