ISU's Oyster promoted to strength coach
AMES, Iowa (AP) - Iowa State has named Clayton Oyster the director of its strength and conditioning program.
Oyster has been with the Cyclones since 2009 as an assistant strength coach. He replaces Yancy McKnight, who left after six seasons to join coach Tom Herman, also a former Iowa State assistant, on the staff at Houston.
Oyster began his collegiate career at Rice from 2006-09.
Rhoads says Oyster knows the program "inside and out" and that he and Oyster have a shared philosophy for developing explosive football players.
