Learn all about skunk cabbage at March 19 nature program
With a name like skunk cabbage, this is not the kind of spring wildflower most people look for - but it is one of the most fascinating botanical wonders of our woods.
Join naturalists from the Forest Preserve District of Kane County for a "Skunk Cabbage" nature program at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls.
This free family program will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday, March 19, at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls, 40W095 Freeman Road, Gilberts.
On this naturalist-guided search, attendees will find skunk cabbage in bloom and learn about its traits. Skunk cabbage grows in wet woods, so wear shoes or boots that can get muddy.
All ages are welcome to this program. Advance registration is required. Call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
