Electric Christmas Parade grand marshals announced
The Downtown St. Charles Partnership has announced that St. Charles Noon Rotary was selected as grand marshals for the 2015 Electric Christmas Parade, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, on Main Street in St. Charles.
St. Charles Noon Rotary is currently celebrating 75 years of "Service Above Self," developing community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy and children at risk. They serve throughout the community, the workplace and the world. St. Charles Noon Rotary President Hieu Nguyen is excited to be a part of the parade and says, "Our group does hope to spread our message of service. We are always looking for new members and opportunities to help others."
The Downtown St. Charles Partnership, which organizes the two-day Holiday Homecoming event and concludes with the Electric Christmas Parade, is very excited to honor St. Charles Noon Rotary in this way. The organization honored Kiwanis as grand marshals of the St. Patrick's Parade, as they celebrated the organization's 100th anniversary in 2015.
Holiday Homecoming is a two-day event, featuring Lighting of the Lights on Nov. 27, and Sleigh Rides on 1st Street, visits with Santa, a holiday movie, and the grand finale, the Electric Christmas Parade taking place Saturday Nov. 28.
