Wisconsin radio station bans Seattle bands until after game

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee radio station is saying "no to Seattle" until after the Packers-Seahawks NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

For now, WLWK-FM says it is banning all Seattle artists from its airwaves.

WLWK midday host J. Pat Miller says that means no Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Heart, Paul Revere and the Raiders or Jimi Hendrix until Monday.

Miller says normally, those bands are in regular rotation on the station's adult-hits format.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1Csw01k ) reports the station - known as 94.5 The Lake - is calling the stunt "Say No to Seattle."

WLWK is owned by Journal Broadcast Group, which is part of Journal Communications, which also owns the Journal Sentinel.
