Schaumburg's Blackwood BBQ giving away food, seeking donations for first responders

Blackwood BBQ just outside Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg will offer a free barbecue giveaway while supplies last Thursday afternoon as it solicits donations to feed first responders.

Participants should pull up to the drive-through of the restaurant at 1711 E. Golf Road between 4:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday.

Each vehicle will receive sandwiches and sides based on the size of its group, up to four.

Those who are able will be asked to provide a donation for the #FeedFirstResponders initiative.

The entirety of each donation will go directly to feeding hospital workers, police officers and firefighters during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those unable to visit the restaurant Thursday but who want to donate can do so through the website at blackwoodbbq.com/first-responders.
