Hanover Park proposes switching to monthly water bills

Hanover Park staff members on Thursday will outline changes in the way the village bills residents for water.

The village is proposing to move from bimonthly to monthly billing to accommodate residents who might be on a tight monthly budget. Hanover Park also proposes raising nonpayment reactivation fees from $20 to $50 and after-hours service fees from $50 to $100.

Additionally, the village wants to raise the late fee charge from 5 percent of the total bill to 10 percent.

The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the municipal building, 2121 W. Lake St., preceding the regularly scheduled village board meeting.
