Buffalo Grove police chief joins board on preventing drunken driving

Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens has joined the national advisory board of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org), a national not-for-profit organization funded by distillers that works to prevent drunken driving and underage drinking.

The organization's national advisory board provides insights and expertise to the president and CEO, Ralph Blackman, the staff and member companies, the group said in a news release.

"Drunk driving and underage drinking are important safety issues that affect us all," Casstevens said in the release. "I admire the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility's innovative and effective programs to make our roadways safe for everyone, and I look forward to working with the national advisory board to make these programs even stronger."

Casstevens is vice president of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and has 37 years of law enforcement experience.
