The Park District's annual budget is based on organizational and departmental initiatives guided by the District's Strategic Plan and Master Plan. The Naperville Park District Board of Park Commissioners will discuss the proposed budget at its November 17, 2015 meeting and will vote on the adoption of the 2016 Budget and appropriation ordinance at the December 15, 2015 meeting.
"The 2016 budget document is based on the District's strong financial position and demonstrates careful planning and stewardship of our residents' tax dollars," said Executive Director Ray McGury. "We look forward to an exciting year as the Park District continues to enrich the quality of life for our community."
The two major capital projects planned for 2016 include the construction of the Fort Hill Activity Center at 20 Fort Hill Drive and the renovation/opening of the Riverwalk Cafe. Other District initiatives planned for 2016 are to transition to new program registration software, renew its national accreditation through a review by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), and recognize the District's 50th anniversary.
