Libertyville students celebrating Earth Day all week

Adler Park School students are embracing the earth in a big way this week.

The Libertyville school is holding Earth Day activities with a variety of programs and presentations, including topics about bees, gardening, farming and nutrition.

On Tuesday, fourth-grade students participated in a hands-on project about soil. All students are encouraged to bring a waste-free lunch on Wednesday. And later this week, the Illinois Farm Bureau will present 60-minute sessions about the life process of an apple tree from seed to fruit.

Earth Day will be celebrated on Saturday.
