Hoffman Estates woman charged with battery to officer

A 21-year-old Hoffman Estates woman arrested Thursday for driving without a valid drivers license has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, officials said.
Police transported Sierra Smith to the police station, where they tried to remove her shoes and a hair bun, at which point she began struggling, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Gbenga Longe said.
Smith is accused of kicking several officers in the shins, hands and knees, Longe said.
She was ordered held on a $10,000 individual recognizance bond.
Smith next appears in court on May 8.
