Gas station near Wadsworth robbed

A thief robbed a gas station near Wadsworth on Tuesday night, Lake County sheriff's police said. The robbery occurred about 7:30 p.m. at TA Travel Center, 16650 Russell Road. The thief jumped over a counter, placed a sharp object to the back of an employee's neck and took cash, police said. He may then have driven from the scene, police said. The suspect appeared to be in his 20s and about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was clean shaven, had an average build and had pale green eyes, police said. He wore a red baseball cap, a gray sweatshirt and dark pants. Anyone with information can call police at (847) 377-4250.
