Side Street Studio Arts presents "Heritage"

Elgin, IL - Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin presents "Heritage," a month-long group exhibition displaying the inheritance of artistic perspective and gifts.

The mission of this exhibition is to experience not only the highs and lows of personal artistic endeavors, but also the relationships formed through the creating and sharing of art.

Curated by Sarah Mikan, the artwork displays a shared belief of acceptance, embracement, family and warmth.

For the month of November, Side Street Studio Arts will host "Heritage," displaying various mixed medium of glass plate, fiber, fashion, woodwork, and more.

It will be featured through Nov. 30 at the art gallery, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin. Open gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The artist reception for "Heritage" will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. It feature live music performances. There is a $5 suggested donation.

Side Street Studio Arts was founded by Tanner Melvin and Erin Rehberg in 2013 as an outlet for the Elgin arts scene. Currently under the direction of Amanda Harris, Melvin, and Rehberg, Side Street's mission is to provide educational and creative resources and an accessible space, run by artists, encouraging all aspects of the artistic process from creation to curation.
