Lake County forest preserve hosts annual 'Profiles in Excellence' event

The Lake County Forest Preserves will hold the 38th annual Profiles in Excellence event virtually from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6.

With the theme "Our Voice is Black History," the event features inspiring presentations and performances in honor of Black History Month.

Students and faculty from the College of Lake County will share their experiences through stories collected from Lake County's Black community.

The project is the foundation of a new exhibition opening virtually in February at the Dunn Museum in Libertyville. Free tickets can be obtained in advance online at LCFPD.org/Profiles to join the virtual event. A Zoom link will be sent only to those with tickets. Email AskAnEducator@LCFPD.org with questions.
