Southern Indiana school district getting $90K in donations

MADISON, Ind. (AP) - A southern Indiana school district's computer technology programs will get a $90,000 boost this year from a local company that's making the donation anonymously.

Madison Consolidated Schools Superintendent Ginger Studebaker-Bolinger says a company that's relatively new to the Ohio River community will make quarterly donations this year to the district that will total $90,000 by year's end.

She says the money for expanding technology programs focusing on computer science is welcome because many technical jobs now require a background in computer science.

District spokeswoman Ashley Schutte tells The Madison Courier (http://bit.ly/1GfzY3l ) the district will begin receiving the donations about mid-year.

She says future donations will be based on a percentage of the company's profits and will be shared with Madison Consolidated Schools on a quarterly basis.
