Preparation Underway for Huge Rummage Sale at Des Plaines Church

The annual "Second Time Around" rummage sale at First Congregational UCC of Des Plaines, 766 Graceland Ave., is scheduled this year for 9am to 3pm on Saturday, April 25. There also will be an early sale ($7 admission) from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, April 24.

The sale, which takes seven days - and many hands - to set up, occupies multiple rooms on the church's main and lower levels and continues outdoors with a huge furniture tent and grilled food for sale. Featured departments include Antiques, Housewares, Clothing, Jewelry, Toys, Holiday, Electronics/Sporting Goods, Books and Furniture plus a Bake Sale and fresh popcorn for sale. Babysitting and bag check areas also are provided.

"In addition to benefiting our church's many missions and ministries, the 'Second Time Around' sale provides a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and involves literally hundreds of church members and friends every year," said Faith Engler, 2015 rummage sale coordinator.
