Former Libertyville man dies downstate

A man with ties to Libertyville died Saturday after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle in downstate Carbondale. Matthew L. Dierker, 33, of Carbondale, graduated from Libertyville High in 1999. He was an inventory and purchasing agent for EMAC Inc. in Carbondale and was pursuing a nursing degree. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville. A funeral is set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 29700 N. St. Mary's Road, Libertyville.
