Cedar Falls police arrest 6 teens in series of Kohl's thefts
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) - Cedar Falls police have arrested six teens in connection to a series of December thefts at an area department store.
Lt. Tim Smith says the six teens were arrested Tuesday thought to be involved in the theft of more than $22,000 in merchandise over a two-week period at Kohl's.
Smith says a 17-year-old store cashier scanned merchandise for her friends and voided the transactions, allowing them to leave the store with the items and their voided receipts. She was charged with first-degree theft. He says the others were charged with second- or third-degree theft.
The Associated Press doesn't usually name juveniles charged with crimes
Police say they've also issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Marqwane Wilson, who is suspected of second-degree theft in the case.
