Libertyville OKs contracts with maintenance workers, firefighters

Four-year labor agreements with two employee groups have been approved by the Libertyville village board.

Parks maintenance employees represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150, will receive a pay increase of 1.5 percent for the current fiscal year ending April 30, 2016 and 2 percent in subsequent years through April 2019. In lieu of retroactive pay to May 1, covered employees will receive a $1,500 lump sum.

Also, the village reached agreement with the Libertyville Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 3892. Firefighters will receive 2.5 percent raises each year through May 1, 2018 and a 2.75 percent increase for the final year. Firefighters have been working without a contract since April 30.
