Good investment in local government

I would like to add my support to the proposed compensation package for the Naperville City Council members. I value the time and responsibility taken on by those who are elected to office.

After calculating that it costs each citizen less than $1.50 a year to fund the old stipend of $12,000 a year plus health insurance, or the proposed stipend of $24,000 without health insurance, either option seems to be a reasonable investment in our local government.
