Dells man accused of trying to drown woman

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) - A Wisconsin Dells man is accused of trying to drown a woman in a bathtub. Police say it wasn't until one of the woman's children intervened that she was able to get away.

Twenty-seven-year-old Justin Wagner is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and other counts in Columbia County. A criminal complaint says the woman told investigators she argued with Wagner after they had been drinking at bars in Lake Delton last weekend.

The Baraboo News Republic (http://bit.ly/1vqkEwe ) reports the two returned to a Wisconsin Dells residence where Wagner held the woman's face, nose and mouth under the bathtub faucet. Authorities say the woman was able to get away when one of her children walked into the bathroom.

Wagner is being held on $10,000 cash bond. Court records do not list an attorney.
