Take a walk and network with others who love nature

Submitted by Forest Preserve District of Kane County

Enjoy a wintry walk along the trails of Dick Young Forest Preserve in Batavia, a 250-acre natural marshland and an Illinois State Nature Preserve, as part of the “Nature Network.”

“The Nature Network” is a free program series designed for active adults who are interested in the outdoors and want to meet others who share this interest. Each monthly gathering features a nature-themed discussion or activity.

January’s topic is “Winter Exploration.” Forest Preserve District naturalists will lead a discussion on the variety of ways nature endures the elements, during the harsh days of winter.

“The Nature Network: Winter Exploration” will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Dick Young Forest Preserve, 39W115 Main St., Batavia. Use the Main Street entrance to the preserve, not the Nelson Lake Road entrance.

While the program is free, advance registration is required. Call (630) 444-4190 or email programs@kaneforest.com to register.
